(Archived) Housing Resource Specialist
Job Description
The Housing Resource Specialist will assess personal and family situations of individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness to determine eligibility for programs and service needs. This role will be responsible for a variety of direct service, technical and skilled tasks in accordance with the rules and regulations of the agency, funding sources and agency mission and philosophy. The position will serve as an ongoing liaison as needed and facilitate and coordinate service activities. If you’re dedicated to serving the community, we’d like to meet you!

The Housing Resource Specialists will work with the participants throughout the housing process and will have regular interactions with their Project Manager to ensure effective service delivery and compliance. The Housing Resource Specialists will use a strength based and holistic approach to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief and nonrecurring.
This includes but is not limited to;
- Responsible for quality of services provided
- Remain up to date on grant guidelines, renewals and standards to ensure timely implementation of changes
- Facilitate supportive service activities for participants that promote achievement of goals and objectives, utilizing a strength based housing plan
- Assess individual and family participants housing status and determine eligibility for program and service needs
- Assist participants in locating, securing and maintaining housing of their choice through the strength based model and guidelines
- Act as liaison between property managers/landlords and participants
- Ensure rental properties meet Housing Quality Standards and are appropriate for participants
- Provide advocacy for participants; support, problem resolution, and identify resources
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or 3 years of experience
- Ability to interact with people of a diverse background
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid Driver’s License
